Testimonials

While under her care, Dr. Sutton worked diligently on trying to find out the source and core of my health problems.  She introduced me to applied kinesiology the study of the chemical, emotional, and physical aspects of my health in conjunction with traditional chiropractic adjustments.  She basically saved my life when she discovered through her techniques that I had a very low thyroid function, was gluten intolerance and had virtually no immune system to fight off anything that was attacking my body. About the time she discovered these things and started me on a good diet and health care plan through vitamins, Dr. Sutton graduated from Parker Chiropractic College, and went on to begin her career in Austin. I am forever grateful to Dr. Sutton for taking the time to go over above what chiropractic adjustments could do  for my health.  She researched until she got to the real source of my problems.

Better Body = Better Life.   Cynical, skeptical or flat out refusal to change are words that could be used to describe me when I met Christy as an chiropractic intern. I resisted change and/or her suggestions and recommendations until after a few sessions when I noticed positive change in my body taking place before my eyes. Once I removed my doubts and stubbornness it was easy to believe in Christy and her work.  When I noticed that she was doing her part to make me a better person I decided to do the same for myself. With her encouragement and advise I cut back on bad food, started to watch what I was eating and began avoiding foods that I learned were allergenic to me. I began exercising and started taking supplements and before I knew it I had dropped 10 pounds from  making simple changes in my diet that had been recommended by Christy. Once learning the basics parts and functions of the spine I fully understood and believed in chiropractic healing and everything that Christy was doing as part of my treatment. I could never thank Christy for the change she created in my life and will always be grateful. I now fully believe in what many consider to be alternative medicine and can honestly say that I will go with the alternative approach first before I submit to the medication pushing doctors that society have claimed to be the norm.

Detoxification. After being a patient of Christy’s for 3 months I agreed to take what could only be described as a huge leap for me in starting a 21 day detoxification program that had been suggested by her for some time. I was very hesitant to say goodbye to my favorite foods and subject myself to what I considered self torture, but on the flip side the results could have positive effects on medical conditions I was facing. After sitting down with Christy and learning which foods were OK to eat and what to avoid, I picked up my supplements and flax and set out on this program. The first few days were hard because I was used to stuffing junk food down when I was bored or wanted a snack. After a few days it seemed to get easier and believe it or not I was actually finding more acceptable food and snacks than I ever thought I would find. After 10 days I noticed that I was feeling thinner and having more energy as the day went on. I was getting a full night of sleep and waking early without the sluggish feeling that I was accustomed to before I started the detoxification. Not only was I feeling good about myself but I was starting to get compliments from co-workers that were noticing a change in my appearance. The next 11 days seem to fly by as I stayed the course and completed this program. I felt better in the end, lost approximately 20 pounds and as a result lowered my cholesterol and improved my thyroid function which had started to be of concern to both my doctor and myself. When I returned to my doctor he was in shock with my test results and when he learned what I had done he encouraged me to continue the changes I had made and even shared a book with me on alternative medicine. He admitted that he secretly encourages patients to look into alternative medicine because of results he has seen and is becoming a believer himself. I too am a believer and have considered adding a detoxification program as a regular part of my life at least once a year if not twice.

Chronic fatigue and hives are gone.I have had chronic fatigue for nine years and chronic hives off and on for 34 years. I was told by my primary care physician that I just had to learn how to live with the fatigue. For the hives I was put on many medications including Prednisone.I am very sensitive to medications and looked for alternative health care practitioners who could help me handle these chronic conditions without all the drugs. Each one put me on supplements which I had difficulty taking due to side effects. I’d tell them about the side effects and they’d just give me more supplements. I’d end up with a box full of supplements I couldn’t take and still not feel any better. After going through this at least a dozen times I started believing my primary care physician that I had to just learn to live with the fatigue, mental slowness, memory problems and hives. After about a year of not looking for help anymore I decided to start the process again. There had to be someone who could help me. I just couldn’t live with the overwhelming fatigue and constant hives. I saw a nutritionist, a holistic doctor, an EFT coach which all lead me to Dr. Lock Sutton. Dr. Lock Sutton has helped to identify many foods and substances that I am sensitive to. They have slowly and gently found supplements that I can take without side effects. Under their care I have improved mental alertness, memory, physical strength and energy. I’ve gone from taking an average of 10 medications a day for hive control to one medication a day. Last Saturday I over exerted myself putting a fence up in my yard. I felt exhausted, weak, achy and stiff. On Sunday I got up and did it again. Monday and Tuesday I ran errands. This is remarkable because a year ago if I’d over exerted myself on a Saturday I’d be unable to get out of bed for a week much less continue to function at any level on the days following. I feel good. I have hope. I am so thankful for Dr. Lock Sutton.
