Why This is an Investment in Your Future

Injuries and illnesses accrue much like interest on a credit card

When we become injured or ill, our bodies make adaptations to these injuries. This may seem harmless, and if the injury or illness is not too severe, then one may feel like they can work through the pain. This can be a very dangerous concept. When we injure ourselves and do not take the steps necessary to heal, then we burden our bodies with “injury debt,” by only paying off the minimum payment. Small injuries that we do not correct are much like small credit card purchases that can add up to a large fortune if only the minimum monthly payment is made.

In addition, large injuries or illnesses are like large purchases, in that the cost can rapidly accumulate if not paid off quickly. Injuries and illnesses that one does not correct will continue to accrue interest in the form of physical damage. Eventually, people who ignore the signs of ill health, or seek quick, superficial fixes will max out their health credit cards, and will left with a fortune of high-interest injury debt that they may not have the health liquidity to pay off.

This is why tune ups are cheaper than overhauls. If you correct an injury or illness early on, then you are paying off the balance. However, if you wait too long to correct injuries and illnesses, then you are paying the minimum payment and may be left with a fortune in interest.

Medical bills are the number one cause of bankruptcy in America. And yet these most often result from the poor health choices that we, or others, have made for us. Don’t be health poor. Make good choices for yourself and your family members, and begin investing in your health fortune. The beauty of a health fortune is that it can be passed down from generation to generation and will also accrue interest—much like that on a bank account with a large balance.

Testimonials

Detoxification. After being a patient of Christy’s for 3 months, I agreed to take what could only be described as a huge leap for me in starting a 21-day detoxification program that had been suggested by her for some time. I was very hesitant to say goodbye to my favorite foods and subject myself to what I considered self-torture, but on the flip side the results could have positive effects on medical conditions I was facing.

After sitting down with Christy and learning which foods were OK to eat and what to avoid, I picked up my supplements and flax and set out on this program. The first few days were hard because I was used to stuffing junk food down when I was bored or wanted a snack. After a few days it seemed to get easier, and believe it or not I was actually finding more acceptable food and snacks than I ever thought I would find.

After 10 days I noticed that I was feeling thinner and having more energy as the day went on. I was getting a full night’s sleep and waking early without feeling sluggish. I was feeling good about myself and starting to get compliments from co-workers who were noticing a change in my appearance. The next 11 days seem to fly by as I stayed the course and completed this program. I felt better in the end, lost approximately 20 pounds, and as a result lowered my cholesterol and improved my thyroid function which had started to be of concern to both my doctor and myself.

When I returned to my doctor he was shocked with my test results. When he learned what I had done he encouraged me to continue the changes I had made and even shared a book with me on alternative medicine. He admitted that he secretly encouraged patients to look into alternative medicine because of results he had seen and was becoming a believer himself. I too am a believer and have considered adding a detoxification program as a regular part of my life at least once or twice a year.

Better Body = Better Life. Cynical, skeptical or flat out refusal to change are words that could be used to describe me when I met Christy. I resisted change and/or her suggestions and recommendations until after a few sessions when I noticed positive changes in my body taking place before my eyes.

Once I removed my doubts and stubbornness, it was easy to believe in Christy and her work. When I noticed that she was doing her part to make me a better person, I decided to do the same for myself.

With her encouragement and advice, I cut back on bad food, started to watch what I was eating, and began avoiding foods that I learned were allergenic to me. I began exercising and started taking supplements, and before I knew it I had dropped 10 pounds from making simple changes recommended by Christy. Once I learned the basics parts and functions of the spine, I fully understood and believed in chiropractic healing and everything that Christy was doing as part of my treatment.

I could never thank Christy enough for the change she created in my life, and I will always be grateful. I now fully believe in what others consider to be alternative medicine, and can honestly say that I will go with the alternative approach first before I submit to the medication-pushing doctors that society has claimed to be the norm.

While under her care, Dr. Lock worked diligently to find out the source and core of my health problems. She introduced me to applied kinesiology--- the study of the chemical, emotional, and physical aspects of my health in conjunction with traditional chiropractic adjustments.

She basically saved my life when she discovered through her techniques that I had a very low thyroid function, was gluten intolerant, and had virtually no immune system to fight off anything that was attacking my body.

About the time she discovered these things and started me on a good diet and health care plan through vitamins, Dr. Lock graduated from Parker Chiropractic College, and went on to begin her career in Austin. I am forever grateful to Dr. Lock for taking the time to go over and above what chiropractic adjustments could do for my health. She researched until she got to the real source of my problems.
